The reasons for specifying Wind Energy are elegantly simple.
Wind is a natural and renewable fuel which can power a mechanical turbine - and create electrical energy. The process creates no exhaust emissions, and therefore does not contribute to Green House Gas (GHG), the principal cause of Global Warming. Wind is an important tool to combat Climate Change, as wind projects can displace other forms of power generation which have GHG emissions.
Wind turbines occupy a small environmental footprint of about 10 hectares for every 100 MW developed. Worldwide, wind turbines are considered compatible land use with grazing animals, both domestic and wild. Wind also brings new economic benefits and employment opportunities to the communities where projects are located.
